1. Cancellation by the Captain or Charter Company
Customers are entitled to a 100% refund or a full credit toward a future trip if the captain cancels. Reasons for captain-initiated cancellations typically include:
Unsafe Weather: High winds, heavy seas, or lightning.
Mechanical Issues: Unexpected engine or equipment failure.
Safety/Health: Sudden illness of the crew or other safety concerns.
2. Cancellation by the Customer
14 day notice is eligible for a full refund of the deposit.
Less than 14 days notice results in a forfeited deposit.
3. Special Circumstances
Seasickness: If a trip is cut short because a passenger becomes ill, no refund is typically issued for the unused time.
"No Fish" Guarantee: Most charters do not offer refunds if no fish are caught, as they are providing the service and expertise rather than a guaranteed product.
